Credentials

SCC’s partnership with Microsoft brings together Microsoft’s innovation with SCC’s advice, integration and managed service expertise. Together, we help customers simplify complexity, adopt technology with confidence and turn Microsoft solutions into practical, measurable outcomes.

Why a standard laptop and an AI-capable one are no longer the same thing

Most business laptops in service today were specified before AI ran on the device. They work, but they were built for a different kind of computing. As AI workloads move from the cloud onto the hardware, the gap between a standard laptop and an AI-capable one starts to show in performance, battery life and what the people using them can actually do. Surface Copilot+ PCs are built for that shift, and SCC makes sure they land well across the organisation.

Meeting, Microsoft Copilot Pc

AI hardware,
built by Microsoft

A Surface Copilot+ PC pairs a dedicated neural processing unit, rated at 40 TOPS or more, with Microsoft-designed hardware and Windows 11. The NPU runs AI on the device, which is what separates a Copilot+ PC from a standard laptop.

It is also separate from a Copilot licence. The device gives you the performance to run AI locally; the licence decides which AI tools sit on top. Current Surface silicon reaches up to 48 TOPS, with a choice of Intel and Snapdragon processors so the device matches the workload rather than the other way round.

What the hardware gives you

On-device performance

A 40+ TOPS NPU runs AI tasks locally, up to 86% faster than the previous generation, with around double the battery life because the NPU draws far less power than the CPU.

Security from chip to cloud

Microsoft Pluton, Windows Hello and BitLocker protect credentials and data at every layer. Surface is built by the company that makes the security stack it runs on.

Privacy by design

Processing on the device means sensitive data does not have to leave it, which matters for regulated and public-sector work.

Built to manage

Intune and Autopilot support, zero-trust alignment and supply-chain integrity, so the fleet is straightforward to deploy and govern.

Made for the way people work

2-in-1 form factor, optional 5G for field and frontline staff, a dedicated Copilot key, precision inking, and live captions and translation across more than 40 languages.

The Surface range: a device for every kind of work

The Surface range covers three device families, each matched to a different kind of work. All three run Windows 11, carry Microsoft chip-to-cloud security by default and are managed from the same Intune and Surface Management Portal tooling, so adding a second or third device type does not add a second or third way of working for IT.

Surface Laptop

Thin, light and built for travel, the Surface Laptop gives teams all-day battery life and fast performance for email, collaboration and office productivity. Copilot+ configurations add a 40+ TOPS neural processing unit, with up to 86% faster performance than the previous generation and around double the battery life, plus a dedicated Copilot key. Available in several screen sizes and processor options, with enterprise buyback that brings down end-of-life costs.

Ms Laptop

Surface Pro

Surface Pro works as a tablet or a laptop depending on the task. It runs full Windows 11 with detachable keyboard and stylus options, which suits visual work like design and CAD as well as everyday productivity. Copilot+ silicon reaches up to 48 TOPS, with a choice of Intel and Snapdragon processors and optional 5G for field and frontline staff. Light enough for desk-free working, capable enough for data analysis, and managed on the same infrastructure as your laptops.

Ms Pro

Surface Go

Not every role needs top specifications. Surface Go runs Windows 11 on lighter processor requirements, which makes it cost-effective for administrative, support and frontline staff. It is touch-optimised for retail, healthcare and field environments, and repairable in service with replaceable screens and batteries. Managed centrally through the same platform as higher-specification Surface devices, so persona mapping can place it precisely where it fits without fragmenting the estate.

Surface Go

The device is the start, not the finish

Buying Surface is straightforward. Deciding who needs which device, configuring the fleet, deploying it without disrupting people and keeping it working over four or five years is where the value is won or lost. SCC does that work as a digital-workplace practice, not a box-shifting line. Persona mapping puts the right device with the right person, so you are not buying top-spec for everyone. Devices arrive imaged through Autopilot, asset-tagged and ready. Take-back, refurbishment and recycling keep the refresh circular and the cost envelope steady. Service desk, device management and experience-level agreements track how the estate performs in

Speak to a specialist

Choosing between Surface Laptop, Pro, and Go depends on your team’s actual work patterns, mobility requirements, and performance demands. Our specialists will help you evaluate which configurations fit which roles in your organisation, and design a device strategy that balances capability with total cost of ownership. A conversation about sustainable endpoint investment, not standardising everyone to the highest spec.
