The next 18 months will test every workplace.

Memory and component prices are climbing, and that feeds straight into the cost and availability of the devices your people need. Add rising overheads, the pressure to be AI-ready and the constant job of keeping good staff. Business as usual gets expensive fast.

Most organisations meet this one purchase at a time. A refresh here, a support contract there, a meeting-room fix when something breaks. Each decision is sensible on its own. Together they cost more, prove less and leave nobody with a view of the whole.

AI raises the stakes. Every board wants it and pilots are everywhere, yet most workplace AI projects fail to land because they start with the technology rather than the outcome. Plenty of leaders know AI matters. Far fewer can say what it should do for their workplace. The organisations that connect it to how people actually work will pull ahead. The ones that ignore it will be left behind.

Become an intelligent workplace.

The organisations pulling ahead have changed the question. Not “what do we need to buy?” but “what outcome do we need and what’s the smartest way to get there?” That means buying against real usage data, measuring how people actually experience their tools, connecting each decision to the next and using AI to make work smarter and more productive.

That is what an intelligent workplace gives you: one joined-up approach where every part makes the next decision smarter. Faster decisions, faster onboarding, higher productivity and a lower cost of ownership. The return tends to arrive faster than managing each part in isolation.

What an intelligent workplace looks like.

An intelligent workplace is an experience-led digital environment where technology, services and AI proactively support your people. Work is personalised by role, so the designer, the road warrior and the frontline worker each get the setup their job actually needs. Security is embedded by design rather than bolted on. Devices are managed end to end. Collaboration works wherever people are. And automation and AI carry the routine load, so effort goes into the outcomes that matter.

One intelligent system. The thinking that joins it up.

What ties the parts together is your own data. SCC’s Intelligent Experience Centre pulls signals from your people, devices and workspaces: ticket patterns, device health, application performance and room usage. It turns them into decisions, so the laptops driving the most support calls get flagged before they’re due a refresh, the licences nobody opens get spotted and the meeting rooms sitting idle get reallocated. It’s strongest across support, optimisation and employee experience, and the longer it runs the sharper those calls become.

Where AI helps, it works quietly in the background: spotting patterns sooner, flagging issues earlier and increasingly acting on them through agentic AI. It’s the engine, not the headline. And it’s secure by design: identity, endpoint protection and zero-trust access on one side; governance, compliance and resilience on the other.

One workplace.
Six joined-up domains.

Understand & Design: Shape the right workplace model.

Profile your real user types and your current maturity across service management, device lifecycle, endpoints and workplace AI to build a clear picture of where you are today and a defined path to where you need to be. That baseline shows where the friction is before you spend. Wherever it sits, AI, devices, experience or collaboration, our advisory work builds a clear pathway to the right outcome. The roadmap stays grounded in evidence rather than assumption, so spend lands where it changes results instead of spreading evenly across people who don’t need the same kit.

Source & Commercialise: Buy smart. Consume flexibly.

In a market where lead times shift and budgets are under pressure, how you buy matters as much as what you buy. SCC’s scale, storage and distribution networks and extensive vendor relationships give you access to a new-and-refurbished mix that keeps quality high and costs in check, while financing, a price-lock and held stock remove the timing risk from a device refresh. An intelligence layer makes the buying smarter still. Persona-led choices match the right software and the right device to what each person needs, not to how old their current kit is. The result is a commercial model built around your budget cycles and risk appetite, not your supplier’s convenience.

Configure & Deploy: Deliver ready workplaces.

Devices that arrive needing work create delays, desk-side risk and IT resource you can’t afford to waste. SCC’s configuration centre handles zero-touch provisioning and pre-enrolment before anything ships, so every device reaches its user secured, enrolled and ready to work from the moment it’s unboxed, matched to the person using it. Behind the deployment sits SCC’s Digital Workplace Professional Services. Strategic consulting, Microsoft 365 and AI transformation, endpoint and device lifecycle expertise, collaboration solutions and adoption services, so change lands with people, not only on the network.

Extend the Workplace: Better collaboration, everywhere.

Meeting rooms, contact centres, telephony and AV, instrumented for real usage. Better collaboration means better productivity, so you invest in what people need, use AI-driven insight to see what’s actually working, add capability where it matters (AV, unified comms, new sites) and retire what no longer earns its place, legacy voice platforms included.

Recover, Renew & Retire: Maximise value. Reduce impact.

Full lifecycle management, handled intelligently. If a device can be refurbished and given another working life, we make that happen, cutting cost and carbon footprint in one move. From there, certified data erasure, residual-value recovery and UK-based responsible recycling, with the audit trail compliance and ESG reporting need. Retired kit helps fund the next refresh.

Support & Optimise: Keep people productive.

Every unresolved issue is a productivity drain and a signal that your support model is working harder than it should. SCC’s proactive, employee-centric managed service keeps the digital workplace running at its best. An intelligent service desk, technical support teams and continuous service improvement resolve issues quickly, reduce disruption and lift the performance of the tools people rely on. Human expertise does the thinking while automation and agentic AI handle the routine, with actionable insight joining the two. DEX tooling measures the digital employee experience, device performance, application health and the friction people never report, so the service improves against what people feel, not only what they log. And because success is measured on user experience, not SLA compliance alone, the incentives always point at outcomes that matter.

Few can do one part well. Almost no one joins them all up.

SCC manages workplace technology for some of the UK’s largest organisations, across hundreds of thousands of devices and every stage of the lifecycle, from our own configuration centre, service desks, field operations and UK-based recycling operations, with global service delivery centres and localised service management where your estate needs them. That scale is what lets us see the connections others miss and act on them, owning the whole process end to end rather than handing you between suppliers.

Connells Group: change at scale

Connells has grown through acquisition into a complex organisation supporting colleagues across around 1,200 branches and offices. It needed a modern workplace that could simplify its technology estate while supporting the scale and diversity of the business.

A Windows 11 refresh became the catalyst for a wider transformation. Working with Connells, SCC helped consolidate the environment around a standard Windows 11 build, modern cloud-based device management and a single M365 tenant. SCC also supported device selection and the large-scale deployment of more than 15,000 devices, together with the accessories needed across the estate.

The result is a more consistent, role-based technology experience for colleagues, backed by a single support model. Four service desks have been consolidated into one, with DEX capabilities enabling more proactive support and greater insight into the employee technology experience.

How we work with you

Start where you are. Find your friction. Prove the value. Add what’s worth adding.

We start by listening. Our discovery approach surfaces the digital friction you may not even know you have, then builds a pathway to the business outcomes that matter, an AI journey, a device journey, an employee experience journey or a collaboration journey.

You don’t have to commit to everything on day one. Most relationships start with one or two things that are clearly costing you. We work to solve those, show you the value in numbers and only then look at where joining up more of your workplace would pay off.

Take a single piece or hand us the whole picture. Either way the goal is the same: a workplace that keeps getting better, with the proof to show it. That is the move from friction to frontier.

What an intelligent workplace gives back.

Better employee experience. Faster decisions and faster onboarding. Higher productivity, with agentic AI carrying more of the load. Lower cost and more value from what you already own. Stronger sustainability and compliance. Less risk and a future-proofed workplace. And decisions you can measure rather than defend.

FAQs

We already have suppliers for some of this.

Most organisations do, and rarely all in one place or talking to each other. SCC can run the parts you want joined up and sit alongside what already works. You decide the scope.

We only need devices right now.

Then start there. We’ll get you the right devices at the right price, configured and ready. The bigger picture is there when you want it, not a condition of buying.

How do we know it saves money?

Because we measure it. The first piece of work is built to prove value in numbers before you extend anything.

Is our data safe?

Security sits at the centre, not the edge. Identity, endpoint protection, zero-trust access, governance and compliance are built into how everything
