Ladbrokes
The situation
Ladbrokes operates 2,000+ retail betting shops across the UK alongside its online gaming business. Each shop runs multimedia screens for odds display, betting interfaces and marketing content. Staff use tablets and electronic point-of-sale systems for transactions. Equipment ages at different rates. Devices break down. Technology needs replacement or upgrade.
Across 2,000 locations, the logistics challenge is substantial. The company needed an end-to-end service: someone to procure the right equipment, manage inventory, arrange installation and handle the eventual disposal when equipment reached end of life. Managing this internally would require significant infrastructure investment.
What SCC did
SCC became the single point of contact for Ladbrokes’ equipment supply chain. The service extends from initial procurement through to disposal. On the operational side, SCC provides break-fix maintenance to all 2,000+ shops, responding to equipment failures with spare parts and repair services.
Through an online portal called Lifecycle, Ladbrokes sites can procure equipment from approved stock, seeing real-time availability and delivery timescales. SCC manages the spares inventory, determining which items to stock based on failure patterns.
What changed
A shop experiencing equipment failure could be back in operation within the next business day. Rather than accumulating a backlog of unresolved technical issues, shops received consistent support. The Lifecycle portal gave site managers visibility of available equipment and a transparent ordering process.
Ladbrokes could concentrate on customer experience and betting operations rather than managing technology logistics across multiple locations.
What the client learned
Ladbrokes learned that the value was not in any single component but in the joined-up approach. By choosing a partner who could own the entire equipment lifecycle, from procurement through to disposal, the business removed a complex operational burden and gained a reliable, scalable model that could flex across thousands of locations without requiring proportional internal resource.
The relationship that SCC has with Ladbrokes is very important for us to succeed.
