Our approach is simple and supported by our family values. We are determined to fulfil our responsibilities to our customers, employees, suppliers, communities, charities and the global environment.
We are committed to ensuring that our business is ethical, safe, professional, environmentally responsible and active in the community.
Dress Down Days
Every Friday at SCC is a charity dress down day supporting different charities each week. Employees donate £1 to take part and they choose the charity by sending in their requests to the CSR Board and then charities get added to the schedule. Sometimes we even have themed dress down days to support national charity campaigns such as Sport Relief, Denim for Dementia and Wear it Pink for Breast Cancer Care.
SCC has three charity partners;
The Prince’s Trust, Molly Olly’s Wishes and Mind.
SCC is a proud Patron of the Prince’s Trust, they support young people, enabling them to move into work, education or training. The Prince of Wales’s charity has helped 750,000 young people since 1976 and supports over 100 more each day.
Molly Olly's Wishes
SCC is proud to partner with Molly Olly’s Wishes. Molly Olly’s Wishes supports children with terminal or life threatening illnesses and their families to help with their emotional wellbeing. We grant individual wishes and donate therapeutic toys and books to both children directly and to hospitals throughout the UK.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling. Mind believes no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. They listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner.
Created with the support of Professor Christian Cabrol to raise awareness of the shortage of organ donations, the Course du Coeur brings together transplanted people, medical personalities, athletes, institutions and large companies.
26 teams of 14 runners run 800 km in “relay mode” for 4 days and 4 nights non-stop between Paris and les Arcs to spread this important message.
SCC France has participated in this fantastic awareness campaign for the past six years, with SCC UK and Romania also taking part for the last three.
Every SCC employee is entitled to a volunteering day, and they can use the day to support a charity that is important to them. Whether it’s helping out at a local charity shop, taking in part in an active event for charity or even by signing up to the opportunities we have with our charity partners, there are plenty of options to help those in need.
Our carbon footprint assessment covers emissions from all of our UK operations, which includes emissions from all our sites, including data centres, as well as from our business travel. We work with CO2balance to calculate our carbon footprint, who use the internationally respected “Greenhouse Gas Protocol” to define the scope of our company carbon footprint.
SCC have always taken the environmental responsibilities seriously, and as a company we have been measuring our carbon footprint since 2010. Working with CO2balance we have offset over 14,800 tonnes of CO2, supporting carbon saving projects in Kenya and Uganda that – as well as helping to combat climate change – has positively impacted over 20,000 people.
