Better Together: Power up the hybrid workforce with Microsoft 365 and Surface.

With employees working between home, the office, and on the go, there is an increasing demand for technology that’s responsive and agile. Most importantly, users need the same consistent experience whether they’re plugged into the network in the office or connecting wirelessly while working remotely.

Microsoft Surface devices enable people to work however they work best, offering flexibility, power and style for the modern workplace. Our Surface Centre showcases SCC and Microsoft working together to help you do business anywhere, anytime.

An intuitive user experience to power the hybrid workforce

Designed to bring out the best in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Surface offers the most intuitive user experience possible – wherever your people work. Surface gives you powerful performance that drives productivity from any location at any time, by bringing the Microsoft cloud to your fingertips. With Surface, many organisations report saving time and money through undisrupted connectivity, while increasing employee satisfaction. Infact, users save up to two hours daily in terms of efficiency, with 86% of agreeing that Microsoft 365-powered Surface devices improve the employee experience.

Much of this can be owed to sleek and high-specification features such as:

Connected devices and security

Just as important as driving productivity is the need to protect your device and data, especially with rising numbers of connected devices and security threats. Surface combined with Microsoft 365 offers the most secure device capabilities available while meeting the evolving needs of the hybrid workforce. With built-in protection at every layer, Surface is a highly secure Windows 10 device loaded with the best, most streamlined implementation of Microsoft’s security stack offering.

Contactless control

Microsoft Surface contains sophisticated, mature hardware and firmware designed to secure the device and the software that runs on it. This empowers IT administrators to control even the lowest level of hardware settings without having to touch the machine.

Streamlined, secure setup

With Surface Enterprise Management Mode (SEMM) IT can enable or disable individual features as part of the setup such as the cameras, Micro SD card, Bluetooth, LTE, and much more. This approach minimises the impact of remote-access trojans and other methods that allow attackers to take control of different parts of the device.

Remote management

If a Surface device is lost or stolen, IT can remotely lock access and wipe its hard drive, or to assign it to a different user using Microsoft Intune. After the wipe, the device is reset to the out-of-box experience, at which point proper credentials are once more required for set-up.

Why SCC and Surface?

Sarah Yates,

Nottinghamshire County Council have worked with SCC since 2005 when they won contracts for the supply and maintenance of server and storage hardware and software licensing. Since then the relationship has grown and SCC have gone on to both retain those contracts when tendered and win further business on the provision of client devices. SCC are also working alongside the Council in their journey to the Cloud to ensure any software licensing requirements are met.
