Generative AI takes centre stage

Generative AI takes centre stage as SCC welcomes high-profile sports guest to Leeds following investment in the region.

European technology solutions and services firm SCC welcomed a high-profile guest speaker to Leeds for a special event focused on generative AI as part of its ongoing investment in the region.

The guest speaker shared their experience of how to get the best out of a team in the fast-paced environment of a global mega sport, as part of a lineup of expert speakers who explored the role of generative AI in delivering productivity enhancements in the future.

The event was co-hosted by SCC and global technology leader Microsoft, and marks the first event at SCC’s new Leeds office, at Globe Point in the South Bank. SCC announced its move to Globe Point from Wellington Place in June having initially invested in new offices in 2019.

This latest investment is driven by growth of SCC’s commercial team Leeds and across Yorkshire and the North, and the need for larger premises to facilitate expansion.

Dennis Badman, SCC UK CEO, commented:Leeds is renowned for hosting the largest legal, finance, and professional services sector outside of London, which presents a remarkable opportunity for SCC. We have placed ourselves in the Temple area, within easy reach of the UK rail network and close to many exciting businesses.

SCC already has a strong presence in the vibrant Yorkshire region. With this investment we can provide easy access to a business hub for existing and potential customers to collaborate on some of the challenges and opportunities they are grappling with.

Our objective is to demonstrate to the Yorkshire business community that as a global Digital Solutions and Services Provider, we possess the capability to transform their existing IT infrastructure and streamline their business operations.

James Henigan, Managing Director of SCC’s Cloud & Cyber business, said:The opportunity for forward-thinking businesses who embrace innovation is huge. Generative AI will reshape how businesses operate. It has the potential to supercharge productivity, enabling people to focus on strategic and value-added activities.

Last month, SCC invested more than £100,000 in new Scotland headquarters. This follows a £7m refurbishment of its global headquarters in Birmingham, and office relocations in London and Bracknell.
