SCC and CASBA charity partnership

SCC’s commitment to inclusivity and supporting our local communities continues with a grant of £1,000 and a donation of IT equipment to support the work of CASBA – a Birmingham-based charity that provides advocacy to people with learning disabilities.

CASBA works to ensure that citizens can speak up for themselves, express their views, make choices, secure their rights and entitlements, and be valued and recognised.

Our partnership will involve fundraising, volunteering, training, and awareness-raising, as we work collaboratively to support CASBA’s vital work and help make SCC an even more inclusive and accessible employer in the West Midlands and beyond.

James Rigby, EMEA CEO of SCC, said:We’re proud to support CASBA as part of our commitment to working with local communities to increase inclusivity at work. SCC’s a global technology business, with its heart in Birmingham, and we’re passionate about helping small, local charities succeed.

We’ll help CASBA break down barriers, support more people who have learning differences improve their lives through work, and educate and train our people, as we continue to transform and grow our business with accessibility, diversity, and inclusion being key components of our culture.

Ginny Cullen, CASBA’s CEO, added:We’re delighted that SCC has chosen CASBA as a charity partner for 2023-24. We’re a small charity, making a huge difference, for hundreds of people with learning disabilities across Birmingham.

CASBA’s staff and volunteers are excited about working together to raise vital funds for our work to empower people with learning disabilities to get their voices heard.”
In Birmingham, just 1.4% of people with learning disabilities are in paid employment because of the barriers they face. Together, CASBA and SCC will change that so more people with a range of learning differences can make their contribution, be valued, and improve their lives through work.
