Assistant Director of Resources, Borough of Broxbourne Council
Overview
Borough of Broxbourne Council needed an IT partner who could transform their IT infrastructure and support services enabling them to deliver the best service and experience to their constituents. Forming a true partnership together, SCC and Borough of Broxbourne Council have started a 7 year journey to revolutionise their IT services to support users in being more productive.
The Solution
Initial engagement started in April 2022, with the council needing the quickly find a new supplier to provide the full range of IT support, as their current contract was due to end in December 2022. Rebecca Keene, Borough of Broxbourne Councils Assistant Director of Resources, said they “were really keen to find someone who could provide us with the wider side of the IT world not just keeping the lights on”.
Following the contract award, SCC took over the management of IT support for Borough of Broxbourne in January 2023. This includes a service desk and an onsite support team, Rebecca said “that was something that was really important to us as a council, that we maintained that onsite presence”. The SCC support service includes a ITSM portal which not only allows users to track the progression of their issues and requests but also to self help via the knowledge hub. The knowledge hub allows them to teach themselves how to do things and wider their digital skills and IT knowledge.
SCC have already developed a strong relationship with Borough of Broxbourne Council which will continue to grow as they work closely together to transform and drive innovation into the councils IT services, delivering even more benefit to the council and their end users. Rebecca said: “There are so many possibilities going forward for Broxbourne and SCC and our partnership working together that I actually have to remind myself to calm down and give the service time to bed in before planning all these exciting initiatives. The contract and the way we have designed it has allowed for the relationship to evolve, both in terms of how we work together and to keep pace with the technologies and the different digital solutions there are available.”
