Ivanti Endpoint Manager 2017.3 provides even more automation for improved user productivity. We’re excited about this new version that will be released in early October.

Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) vendors claim EMM is the only way to go, but is it really?

At Ivanti, we want to give our customers the choice based on their organizational requirements. We are offering both EMM-type management of PCs and mobile devices, but also the power and flexibility of an agent. So, you can manage your endpoints just as you would your mobile devices when enrolling them, deploying profiles and policies, configuring email accounts, applying restrictions; but if you want to fully secure your devices you do it through the power of an agent.  When combined with endpoint security, the agent will help you, for instance in an event of a breach, to isolate the machine with the malware, automatically deploy software or a new image to the machine, and put the machine back on the network. Few, if any other vendors can do that, but no EMM or MDM solution can touch that level of operational security, so don’t restrict your management and security to the OS vendors’ will. With Ivanti, you have the best of both worlds.

With Ivanti Endpoint Manager 2017.3, EMM now includes group enrollments for faster, batch provisioning. There is also an EMM enroller for Apple if you want to manage Macs as you would a mobile device. And the updated configuration profile manager and editor are more Mac-like and robust.

Ivanti User Workspace Manager

Ivanti User Workspace Manager integration with Microsoft AutoPilot and Intune.

Ivanti Environment Manager customers pre-registering new Windows 10 devices with Microsoft with the new AutoPilot and Intune cloud services can now use User Workspace Manager to provide tight IT control over the security and personalization of that device. When turned on for the first time with Internet access, a device configured to use AutoPilot discovers that it has been registered by the employer, and will then only allow the user to authenticate with their corporate account. After initial logon, Intune will configure the Windows version and deliver applications, and configure basic MDM-style policies. This all sounds good, but these technologies all use AzureAD and not traditional Active Directory, so when Windows 10 devices are onboarded with AutoPilot and Intune they are not domain-joined, eliminating many traditional IT management tools, including Group Policy. This approach significantly reduces IT’s ability to apply user policy to support corporate policy and regulatory compliance. IT admins that want to supplement the AutoPilot capabilities with tighter control and more flexible security, as well as a fully portable user persona and experience can now leverage User Workspace Manager. For example, Environment Manager can apply Group Policy-like policies to the endpoint, but with a far higher degree of performance, flexibility and granular targeting.

New Velocity release! Ivanti Velocity 1.2.109 is now available.

Our 4-step framework for Android migration continues to get enhancements, making it easier to bring your existing telnet and web apps to Android.  With the release of Velocity version 1.2.109, we’ve got several cool new capabilities:

• Optimization gets a big lift from additional scripting capabilities for web hosts. From scoping to reordering, to managing persistent variables and more, you have the power to streamline tasks with time-saving automation.
• The Modernization stage gets some cool new tricks of its own, with template enhancements that help you group similar screens. Now, you can add common styling elements to multiple screens at one time!
• We’ve added support for CipherLab mobile computers, and expanded our pre-licensed availability to Zebra’s MC9200 running Android.
