New Research Shows Cloud Infrastructure Revenues up Almost 40% in Q2
Statistics released by IDC show that Cloud Infrastructure Revenues around spend on IT infrastructure (server, disk storage, and Ethernet switches) for public and private cloud in the EMEA region grew by 37.4 % year-on-year (YoY) to $1.4 billion in revenues for the second quarter of 2016.
The cloud-related share of total EMEA infrastructure revenue was 22.5%. Looking at the market in financial terms, user value growth was 34.2%. IDC expects this market to reach a value of $10.5 billion, or 36.5% of total market expenditure, by 2020.
The firm said that ‘multicloud’ continues to be a very popular deployment model and that it expects over 70% of Western European enterprises to this approach in some way by the end of 2017.
