IBM XIV Storage: Impressive Real World Performance

This brief is a preview of an ongoing qualitative end-user research project by ESG to explore, evaluate, measure, and analyse the real world performance and operational value of IBM’s XIV storage offering.

This preview is designed to coincide with IBM’s announcement of further enhancements to XIV, and to provide some high-level glimpses of the insights so far. What is clear from the numerous end‐user interviews already conducted by ESG is that XIV’s performance ability is proving more than enough to support (indeed often to thrill the IT management of) wide-ranging, high‐performance, mission-critical workloads in extremely large and demanding IT organizations.
