Epson Unveils New Features to its Compact Colour Label Printers

PrintersEpson will demonstrate its ColorWorks series of desktop label printers which will be shown along with its award-winning hands-free LabelWorks labelling devices at PPMA Total Show 2016 (stand B80, 27th – 29th September, NEC, Birmingham). New features for the ColorWorks C7500 are the addition of Wasatch RIP software adding colour and workflow management capabilities and continuous media support.  This makes it the perfect choice for customers who want to print continuous labels as well as those who have traditionally used this printer with die-cut media.

Epson’s Colorworks Series of inkjet label printers greatly simplifies the traditional process for producing colour enhanced labels and with the new software tools and features that have been developed, these affordable compact label printers offer great flexibility and versatility for companies looking to invest.

The Epson ColorWorks C7500 industrial colour label printer redefines reliable, high-speed, high-quality colour label printing to meet manufacturers’ in-house labelling needs. Featuring Epson’s PrecisionCore printhead, the printer ensures reliable, high-quality results and its unique Nozzle Verification Technology (NVT) and dot substitution helps prevent misprints and dead pixels for consistent printouts. With print speeds up to 300mm/sec and 600x1200dpi image resolution, the ColorWorks C7500 is capable of producing a range of high-quality labels fast, including those for food and beverage products, packaging and boxes, as well as EU Energy labels and GHS labels.

For the first time, the ColorWorks C7500 will be demonstrated with a rewinder/unwinder unit built by Italian company Wide Range and a new Bluhm label applicator device will be shown, which has the capability to work in-line with the ColorWorks C7500 as well as off-line.

The Epson ColorWorks C3500 inkjet printer brings on-demand versatility for companies wishing to print high-quality colour labels, tags and tickets. The desktop printer delivers high-quality print speeds up to 103mm/sec on a wide variety of media, including matte and glossy-coated paper and synthetic media in a wide range of formats and sizes. Its simple front operation and compact size makes it ideal for under-counter positioning. The ColorWorks C3500 is now available with Linux CUPS drivers and the Epson Printer Settings utility is also available for Linux, offering users the option for monitoring and configuring the printer and opening up many new possibilities in markets where Linux OS is widely used, such as retail environments.

The Epson LabelWorks range features durable handheld industrial label printers designed to boost productivity in demanding environments. Ideally suited to installers, maintenance contractors, builders and plumbers, the LabelWorks printer is ideal for rapidly, efficiently and affordably labelling electrics, cabling, including audio/video cables, data communications equipment, as well as pipes and machinery, in offices, factories, server rooms and construction sites. Its unique Pick & Print function enables the LabelWorks to print the next label in a pre-set series when it detects that the user has ‘picked’ the previous label. Hands-free operation is made possible by an automatic cutter that cuts full or half size labels and magnets that can be used to hold the printer onto metal surfaces. It is extremely versatile, with the ability to print up to seven different tape widths from 4 to 36mm and up to 9m long. The Labelworks printer was recognised for its innovative product design when it was awarded the prestigious iF Design Award earlier this year.

“The PPMA Total Show brings together some of the very latest technologies available to the packaging and labelling sector under one roof and is the perfect venue for us to demonstrate the versatile features and capabilities of the Epson Series of label printers.”
