Black Friday and Cyber Monday Set to Trigger Spending Spree
Thanksgiving holiday shoppers in the US are expected to spend 3.3% more this year than they did in 2014, according to a survey from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). The organisation says that 51% of consumers are planning to buy technology products. The trend is certain to be mirrored in the UK with the spending spree kicking off in earnest on Black Friday and Cyber Monday on 27th and 30th November (Thanksgiving is on the 26th).
The ICSC also find that 90% of consumers plan to shop this holiday season, up from 82 percent last year and that 95% of shoppers intend to make an in-store purchases; reasons for this include seeing the merchandise before buying, to save on shipping, take advantage of in-store-only offers, to make returns or exchanges easier, and the convenience of one-stop shopping.
