Vision – Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 have a series of features tailored for people who are blind, color blind, or have low vision. These include larger and brighter screens and a Narrator tool that reads text aloud.Hearing – For individuals with hearing loss or deafness, programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Teams offer specialized features such as closed captioning, mono sound, and live call transcription. Mobility – Our suite of products such as Microsoft Sticky Keys helps individuals with mobility issues navigate the digital world. We’re making technology work for those with arthritis, quadriplegia, and spinal cord injuries. Neurodiversity – Innovative tools like dictation and Windows Hello sign-in make the digital world more accessible to people with dyslexia, seizures, autism, or other cognitive differences. Mental Health – For those living with bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, or ADHD, there are various features that can help with distraction, reading, and concentration. These include assistive technologies such as Focus Assist and an Immersive Reader.

Carbon – In 2021 and 2022, Microsoft contracted to remove 2.5 million metric tons of carbon, meeting their cumulative two-year goal. Ecosystems – In 2021, Microsoft introduced its Planetary Computer. This technology provides an efficient and scalable way to monitor, measure, and manage the impact of our actions on ecosystems. Devices – Sustainability also means considering the impact of our devices, software, games, and operating systems on the planet – from design to end-of-life. Infrastructure – To promote sustainability, SCC and Microsoft are working towards protecting more land than they use by 2025.

Training – In 2022, Microsoft trained 4.6 million people with in-demand digital skills and connected them to opportunities in the digital economy. Rural Communities -Since 2017, Microsoft has helped over 50 million people in unserved rural communities globally gain access to affordable broadband.
