“Balfour Beatty’s managed print programme has formed a fundamental part of the group’s head office approach to drive efficiencies across the business. Due to a disparate strategy for printing there was no central repository of assets and there was a significant cost to Balfour Beatty of procurement through various channels.”

To identify the most sophisticated and proficient MPS solution, Balfour Beatty engaged in a competitive tender process over a period of six months including all the key suppliers within the UK. Following that process, M2 an SCC business, was awarded preferred supplier status and asked to complete a ‘proof of concept’ process over an eight month period. Once complete SCC was asked to migrate the entire business to a best practice MPS solution across all UK offices and construction sites. A spokesperson for Balfour Beatty said:

“SCC was able to not only provide us with the MPS solution for our business that would help control spending, but also help us save money by avoiding significant financial penalties imposed by other businesses.”

“Our IT department is busy and anything we can do to save them time helps. Support calls are often timely and with M2 handling, we are now able to focus on other areas of our IT infrastructure.”

“The cost efficiencies have been massive. By rationalising the supply chain and selecting one main partner, the programme was able to quickly establish a platform to jointly deliver around £9 million of annualised benefits over five years for UK Operating Companies.”
