SCC Unify, an Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine that puts all your data into one dashboard, has just launched. The single location platform arranges different types of data into a more consumable insight, allowing the user to visualise and understand it, as well as make actions. Layers of automation and alerting can also be applied. As well as IoT & AI, the Unify function focuses on emerging technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Chatbots & Blockchain. Tyrran Ferguson, head of IoT / AI, and the Unify platform, said, “Think of how a car is made up of all the individual components, you don’t need to know how a combustion engine functions to be able to drive to the grocery store which is how our platform works. We worry about the engine and the data-journey so that you can ingest it and make relevant strategic decisions from it for your business.” The Unify Engine connects to any IoT devices/hardware and controls that data-journey. “We take any IoT data and improve on it,” says Gary de Bruin, AI Technologist and one of the platform’s head developers, “We give our customers a platform where they can access the data after we’ve run it through our engine but we also represent it and visualise it for them in ways that make it quicker for them to spot trends or concerns. “For example, we provide a contact-tracing solution which can determine when people have come into close contact with each other, but at the same time we create a heatmap of the office-building when we do it, so it provides the customer with a view of areas of the floorplan which are causing unexpected choke-points or forcing employees to get too close to one another. Tyrran adds, “We’re super happy and proud of this platform and engine that we’ve developed.
