Dell Packs More Power Into Smaller Precision Workstation Skylake Designs
Dell has revamped its Precision Workstation range, launching Skylake versions of all models that deliver huge leaps in performance of up to 20%, and thinner designs.
The 15.6-inch Precision 15 5000 laptop is significantly smaller than its predecessor but does not sacrifice screen size, power or functionality. It is available with a range of the latest 45-watt Intel Skylake and Xeon processor options, including the Core i7-6820HQ, Core i5-6300HQ and Xeon E3-1505M v5. It also features 43% faster DDR4 memory.
There are two variants – a 1920 x 1080 and a 3840 x 2140 display that support ten-point touch. Both support wide-viewing-angles. They come with either a Quadro M1000M graphics chipset or Intel Pro Graphics 530 and P530. There are SSD and HDD options of up to 1TB
Dell has also released Precision 15 3000 and Precision 17 7000 models, offering a slightly more affordable option and a larger screen size and immense respectively. The latter is immensely powerful, offering quad-core Core i5 and Core i7 options and with capacity for as much as 16MB of cache, 64GB of DDR4 RAM, 2TB of SSD and 4TB of combined storage. There are additional graphics options too, including Nvidia Quadro M3000M and M50000M and AMD FirePro W7170M and W517M processors.
