SCC has partnered with independent software vendor IIZUKA to provide the UK Pensions Ombudsman their secure Cloud-based Case Manager Product via its secure Cloud service, Sentinel by SCC, the cornerstone of OptimiseCloud™.
The deal, which will see the IL3 rated service begin to play a central role in the Ombudsman’s operations from early 2013, represents a significant development in the ability of Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to supply services the public sector via G-Cloud. Combining IIZUKA’s Case Management expertise with the security of SCC’s Pan-Government accredited Cloud platform, the project is currently in its final testing phase and is scheduled to be rolled out across the government-appointed regulator’s operation in January.
“The Pensions Ombudsman project sums up the essence of what G-Cloud is trying to achieve. By connecting small, flexible and highly expert ISVs with the public sector via a trusted and secure platform, not only are Britain’s SMEs enabled to supply solutions direct to the heart of government, but civic bodies are able to deploy efficient, reliable and cost-effective solutions capable of delivering tangible improvements to front line services,” said Tracy Westall, SCC’s UK Public Sector Director. “As a company that started life as an SME itself, we are delighted to be playing a pivotal role in helping small, specialist businesses sell direct to public bodies and government organisations.”
Designed to Deliver
Designed to deliver a central reference point for individual complaints to the government-appointed regulator, the IIZUKA system will both co-ordinate internal activities and provide service users with an information portal through which to track the progress of their individual cases. Running on an infrastructure provided by SCC’s IL2 and IL3 accredited Single Multi-Tenanted Cloud platform, the service employs a flexible modular approach that has allowed it to be tailored to meet the specific business requirements of the Pensions Ombudsman’s Office.
IIZUKA, which already supplies a range of organisations including Sunderland City Council and Cleveland Police with Case Management software, believes that its partnership with SCC has reduced the workload and resources involved in providing Cloud-based services to the public sector by up to 80%.
IIZUKA Managing Director Greg Hayes commented:
“Our partnership with SCC offers a range of benefits. The confidence and credibility provided by its Pan-Government accreditation has been of significant value, enabling us to provide the public sector with the high levels of security it demands without incurring the considerable outlay required to secure such ratings in our own right. While the company’s infrastructure expertise has allowed us to focus on our speciality, its track record in the public sector and extensive client base has also opened up a new route to market for our service that we believe offers huge potential for the future.”
“We are delighted to be working with IIZUKA and SCC, in whom we have placed great trust in a project of central importance to our business. We look forward with confidence to a successful partnership.” said Pensions Ombudsman Tony King
