Policing has been clear about the problems it needs to solve. The question now is how we solve them together.
The NPCC’s Policing Problem Book identifies a number of systemic challenges facing UK policing today. From the growing burden of digital evidence to fragmented data sharing and the need to scale innovation across forces, these issues cannot be solved by individual organisations working alone.
They require collaboration across policing, government and the private sector.
This session will explore how policing organisations and technology partners can work together to address the priorities outlined in the Policing Problem Book, with a focus on three areas where progress will be critical.
We’ll also discuss how effective collaboration with the private sector can support solve problems once and share the benefits nationally — bringing experience in integration, data platforms and scalable innovation to help policing move from problem definition to practical delivery.
The themes we will explore
Improving the capture and analysis of digital evidence: How automation, cloud platforms and AI can reduce manual workload and improve the speed and quality of investigations.
Enabling secure, efficient and standardised data sharing across forces: How policing can overcome fragmented systems and move towards secure interoperability that supports operational collaboration.
Embedding innovation and evaluation so solutions can scale nationally: How forces can test and validate new technologies in controlled environments before adopting them more widely across policing.
A practical starting point
We will also introduce a structured workshop model designed to help forces explore the challenges identified in the Problem Book in a focused and evidence-led way.
These sessions enable leadership teams to identify priority use cases, test potential solutions and build insight that can inform wider adoption across policing.
What you’ll take away
- A clearer understanding of the challenges highlighted in the NPCC Policing Problem Book
- Practical insight into how collaboration with the private sector can help address them
- Examples of how local initiatives can contribute to national capability
- A structured way to begin exploring solutions before scaling investment
Who should attend
This session is designed for senior leaders responsible for shaping digital, data and technology strategy across UK policing, including:
- Chief Constables and senior operational leaders
- CIOs, CTOs and CDIOs
- Directors of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT)
- Leaders responsible for digital transformation, innovation and operational technology
- National policing bodies and teams involved in shaping shared technology capability across forces
If you are involved in delivering the priorities set out in the NPCC Policing Problem Book or the wider police reform agenda, this session will provide practical insight into how collaboration with the private sector can help address those challenges.
