“The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) protects and improves the environment by helping business and industry to understand their environmental responsibilities, enabling customers to comply with legislation and realise the economic benefits of good practice.”
As a public body, SEPA needs to ensure that at all times they apply commercial rigour when delivering their service. Following SEPA’s initial engagement of SCC, to successfully supply Microsoft licensing, the Agency realised that there was an opportunity to fully optimise their software estate.
With the complex task of managing numerous licenses a large portfolio of suppliers, each with their own specific terms and conditions, management of software was proving both time consuming and costly, taking the Agency away from the core part of their service.
SCC has helped SEPA rationalise software procurement, improving the way software usage was monitored and analysed by identifying which applications were deployed where, across the entire estate.
As a trusted partner, SCC has helped to reduce procurement overheads and accelerate the purchasing process.
Working closely with SEPA’s IT team, SCC has enabled the defining of a a licensing procurement strategy that aligns with the Agency’s technology refresh cycles and ensures maximum return on investment, while saving SEPA money.
“SCC helped us to understand where, how and when to deploy software to optimise what we had and make best use of our budget,” said SEPA.
“They consolidated a number of licensing agreements, which has significantly reduced our budget and freed us up to support the internal team.”
