Stobart Group

SCC is working with the Stobart Group, one of the UK's leading providers of multimodal transport and logistics solutions, on an IT transformation project that will consolidate and centralise the Group's infrastructure, based on the Microsoft Infrastructure Optimisation Model.

“We have developed an excellent working relationship with SCC”

This involves building a new Group IT infrastructure that will be used by all of its subsidiaries, including Eddie Stobart Ltd (storage and distribution), Stobart Ports and Stobart Rail. The project will deliver a Group-wide Wintel server platform, Exchange platform, Storage platform, Active Directory structure and WAN optimisation devices that will use technology tools such as VMware and Symantec Enterprise Vault. This infrastructure will be hosted in SCC's Data Centre and be managed by the network operations team.

In partnership with the Group's IT Director, Vince Sparks, the scope of work will transform the existing IT infrastructure from a basic, distributed architecture to a centralised, standardised design. In so doing, it will greatly enhance the performance of the organisation's IT infrastructure, enabling the rapid integration of new acquisitions, which forms a significant part of this Transport and Logistics Solutions Group's strategy.

Vince Sparks, I.T. Director, Stobart Group plc, said: "We have developed an excellent working relationship with SCC , the proactive approach and flexibility at all levels of engagement has really underpinned the success of the project to date and we are looking forward to realising significant business benefits on completion of this strategically important IT transformation."
