Comic Relief
Each year Comic Relief's main fundraising event culminates in a live television programme designed to encourage donations from its viewing audience. During this programme - alternating each year between Red Nose Day and Sport Relief - the organisation receives over 50% of its annual funds through debit and credit card donations taken over the telephone.

In search of a trustworthy partner to support its most successful event to date, Red Nose Day 05, transmitted in March 2005, Comic Relief selected SCC to provide full transaction services for all funds pledged to telephone operators across 200 call centres.
Combining expertise around data, process management and reporting with stringent procedures around the security and accuracy of information, SCC is delivering a cost efficient and responsive service that enables Comic Relief to maximise its funds and draw upon them at the earliest opportunity. During a Sport Relief or Red Nose Day event, operators can take anywhere between 350,000 and one million telephone donations. SCC delivers to a tight service level agreement ensuring the processing of all donations within a target of just three months.

SCC is able to free up vital Comic Relief resources and reduce the administrative burden for the charity by managing the full process around each telephone donation. This includes taking ownership for query resolution, authorising and processing donations through to Comic Relief account, providing accurate information to enable gift aid claims and feeding captured details back to Comic Relief to improve business intelligence.
