Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, one of the ten Greater Manchester Authorities, serves around 200,000 people and providing for the needs of this thriving and diverse community, whilst meeting Government targets to improve delivery, is a constant challenge.
SCC has supported the Council's aim to improve its services and reduce costs by designing and implementing a new data network - assisting with an infrastructure migration, from mainframe systems to Windows-based servers, and installing the latest versions of Microsoft's key server-based applications. In the process, overall management costs have been significantly reduced.
